Cement is a most original material for furniture.
Slight formal imperfections in the cement of the Boiacca table, its porous surface and not perfectly square corners all give it a material quality that is longlasting and changes over time. Each table is unique, not only for the number marked under its top that distinguishes it but also for the slight variations in colour that can be detected, at the time of casting, due to humidity and the air temperature. Although it is protected by a water-repellent surface treatment, these variations in colour may continue throughout the life of the product when collocated outdoors. Over the years, each Boiacca table will become even more special and unique, pleasantly “delabré” like a feature of domestic architecture and the human landscape.
