Flap

DESIGN BY RAMOS BASSOLS, 2022

The Ramos Bassols studio has designed an armchair with dynamic lines inspired by aircraft flaps. The shape is the outcome of the hypothetical superimposition of a slender seat and a large volume. It conveys a skilful balance of thicknesses and concave and convex curves. While the plywood structure recalls the nautical world, the upholstery is inspired by tailoring. Also visually comfortable, Flap is designed to accommodate the body with padding of different densities. Available with feet or a swivel disc-return mechanism, it’s dimensions are small, making it ideal for any home or contract environment.
