Ottavo
Form Us With Love, 2025
The Ottavo table system was developed in collaboration with the Swedish studio Form Us With Love and represents an evolution in interior and contract design. The project combines essential aesthetics with advanced technical performance within a single, flexible system. Its defining element is the octagonal central leg, which gives the system its name and logic. The geometry enables eight connection directions, turning Ottavo into a highly adaptable modular platform. Made of extruded aluminium, the system combines lightness, structural strength, and durability, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor environments. Integrated technical grooves along the column act as invisible tracks for attaching accessories and connecting multiple modules. Starting from a single element and slender, elegant tops, the system expands freely in space. The prototyping phase enabled the development of the multi-level concept, transforming Ottavo into a dynamic architectural element. The system allows surfaces at the same height to be combined into large shared configurations, or to introduce height variations, generating layouts ranging from minimal compositions to more sculptural solutions. Ottavo is a flexible spatial platform designed to adapt to different contexts — from collaborative workspaces to hospitality environments and outdoor areas — offering full customisation and quick, intuitive assembly. More than a table, it is a system capable of evolving over time, ensuring functionality, lightness, and a strong visual identity.
Form Us With Love
Form Us With Love is an international design studio founded in 2005. At the core of its practice lies a process that combines traditional creative methods with a lean and strategic approach. Its main objective is to evolve alongside the needs of each project, its position within the market, and the constantly changing needs of people. The studio designs with a clear purpose: to improve life as a whole. This is a broad and complex vision, in which progress is understood as a continuous balance between advancement and challenge. The needs of people differ from those of businesses, even though they often overlap; at the same time, every solution designed for the planet must also be evaluated in relation to its long-term impact. For this reason, numerous factors are considered when designing a product, with sustainability playing a central role. Every solution developed also contributes to expanding the studio’s body of knowledge, ensuring that each new challenge benefits from previous experience rather than starting from scratch. The studio aims to create meaningful change through an understanding of industry and culture, promoting systemic transformations with implications across different sectors of life. To achieve this, it identifies industrial opportunities capable of addressing social needs and develops solutions characterized by a balanced use of resources. The result is the creation of necessary, high-quality products that support business growth while generating real change.
Mechanical coupling of the elements
The name Ottavo, reveals its deeply geometric and functional nature: the load-bearing structure revolves around an innovative central octagonal leg, designed to offer eight distinct directions for development and connection. The secret behind this extraordinary modularity lies in the aluminium extrusion process. This material not only guarantees a perfect balance between structural lightness and extreme resistance, but is also naturally corrosion-proof, making the system ideal for both indoor and outdoor applications. Precise technical grooves run along the sides of the octagonal column: these invisible tracks allow not only for the rapid attachment of dedicated accessories, but also serve as connection nodes for joining multiple modules together.
Compositions
The complex prototyping phase made it possible to explore and push the limits of the system’s potential, introducing a key concept: the management of multiple tops. Ottavo ceases to be perceived as a single surface and transforms into a reactive architectural element. The multidirectional extruded aluminium structure allows for the integration, within a single configuration, of tables at the same height to create extended shared surfaces, or for playing with levels and varying heights, generating forms that range from the minimalist to the purely sculptural. This compositional freedom translates into a flexible design, capable of adapting effortlessly to ever-evolving environments while always maintaining a scenographic presence of great visual impact.
