Sharky

DESIGN BY NEULAND, 2014

The philosophy of Eva Paster and Michael Geldmacher is based on observing nature and on a profound knowledge of contemporary lifestyles. To create the coupling elements between the structure and base of the Sharky chair, which won the Interior Innovation Award in 2015, the designers were inspired by the lightness and strength of shark fins. The result is a slimline, sinuous yet very hardwearing seat. The Sharky chair, stool with a high backrest and stool with a low backrest are available with wood legs or with painted aluminium legs with visible welded details. The polyurethane structure is made even more comfortable with a padded seat or cushions, available in a wide variety of colours. The option of adding a Lips cushion, designed for outdoor use, adds a touch of customization and extra comfort to these chairs.

Eva Paster and Michael Geldmacher met when they were still students and set up their studio, immediately offering high-level industries an original and in-depth approach to design. Guided by a holistic design concept, in which “the whole is more than the sum of its parts”, their work involves a step-by-step process leading to the discovery and awareness of the very essence of a product. Culturally and professionally versatile, their background ranges from psychology to communication, from packaging and exhibition design to sports items, lamps and furnishings.
